A graduate of Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart and the University of Texas at Austin, Kathy is a recognized leader in business, community and social affairs. She lived in Broad Oaks subdivision for more than 28 years and served on the board of the Broad Oaks Civic Association. She now resides "inside the loop". Community involvement includes memberships in The Junior League of Houston, St. Martin's Episcopal Church Altar Guild, Delta Delta Delta Alumnae Association, Lamar High School PTO, the Naval Academy Parent Organization, and support for the Lamar Baseball Team.
